Glen/Mar was responsible for the design and renovation of Ward 5C, a Psychiatric Ward, at the Portland VA Medical Center where current deficiencies, that presented immediate danger to the life and safety of the patient needed to be upgraded.  16,400SF renovation consisting of the replacement of drop ceiling with hard lid ceiling, bifurcating existing rooms into additional patient rooms, new doors, frames & hardware, highlighted by the soft, suicide doors used on the restroom doors designed to break away from the hinges when too strong of force is applied.  Other items include replacing fire suppression heads, light fixtures and HVAC grilles with tamper proof screws, new toilets with in-wall flushometers, updated nurse call equipment, flush mounted wall fixtures, and new security monitoring equipment.
